Who does require a VISA

Travelers from countries not listed above are advised to contact the relevant Austrian embassy, consulate, or Schengen partner representation to verify the current entry requirements.
Holders of a valid Schengen visa may travel freely within the Schengen Area for up to three months, regardless of which Schengen member state issued the visa.

Additional details on visa requirements and Schengen visas are available on the website of the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs.

In general, the processing time for a complete and admissible Schengen visa application is up to 15 calendar days. If additional examination is required, this period may be extended to a maximum of 45 calendar days.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their visa applications as early as possible — no earlier than six months before arrival and no later than four months prior to the congress or conference.

Please note that applications submitted after this recommended timeframe may not be processed in time by the responsible Austrian or Schengen partner authorities.
